How It Works

The process

How CreditFixRS works

Our proposed process helps you review potential inaccuracies and document your own disputes. Service availability depends on state eligibility and completion of our launch requirements. Enrollment is not open through this page.

Phase 1 — Eligibility, agreement and report review

Before personalized work begins, we confirm service availability, provide the required separate disclosures and signed agreement, and wait through the applicable cancellation period. You then obtain your own reports from AnnualCreditReport.com. We compare the reports with your records to flag possible inaccuracies:

  • Possible duplicate or mixed files, and accounts you do not recognize
  • Items reported past their legal time limit for appearing
  • Balances, dates and payment histories that do not match the source records
  • Unrecognized inquiries that need context about who requested your report
  • Collection dates or ownership that appear inconsistent with your records

The proposed action plan identifies each potential discrepancy, the reporting bureau, supporting facts and any unanswered questions. An unfamiliar or negative item is not automatically inaccurate. You can correct our understanding or decide not to dispute.

Phase 2 — The guided dispute session

With client-authenticated assisted filing, you review drafts outside the bureau session, one item at a time:

  • You sign in to your own bureau account — you keep control of your identity and your logins.
  • We ask about the facts of each item. You can answer, correct, skip or select “not sure.” Your authenticated browser session stays private.
  • We prepare factual drafts and organize relevant evidence. You enter the information in your own browser, verify the actual content and attachments, and submit from your account.
  • You provide the confirmation and a record of what was actually submitted. An uncertain submission is checked before another attempt.

Timing depends on the service waiting period, your evidence and bureau availability. We do not control your bureau account or collect passwords, verification codes or session cookies.

Phase 3 — Certified mail where it counts

Our proposed certified-mail backbone provides a documented option when you prefer mail or a portal cannot accept your issue or evidence. You approve the exact letter and attachments before dispatch. We retain that packet with mailing and delivery records; a receipt alone does not prove what was in the envelope. Certified mail is a choice, not a requirement for every dispute.

Phase 4 — Follow-up, escalation and coaching

We review each response and document corrected, deleted, unchanged and unresolved items separately. Further disputes need a remaining factual issue, new evidence or an investigation concern. Gated escalation follows the current complaint requirements; a closed bureau dispute can qualify without an automatic 45-day wait. We do not promise that a creditor must investigate a letter prepared by a credit repair organization. Legal questions and urgent identity-theft cases need specialist help.

Clear roles

What you do — and what we do

You retain control of your bureau accounts and final submissions. Any report sharing needs a separately approved secure process.

You do

  • Obtain your reports and sign in privately to your own bureau accounts
  • Answer a few plain questions about what is accurate
  • Review and submit each dispute

We do

  • Compare available reports and flag potential factual discrepancies
  • Prepare factual drafts for items you choose to dispute
  • Track responses and review supported follow-up options
What to expect

Timing depends on your case

Your agreement must describe the scope and estimated completion period. We cannot guarantee a deletion, score increase or credit approval.

Before filing

Eligibility, required documents and waiting periods come first. File only supported disputes with the relevant bureaus after your approval.

After bureau receipt

Reinvestigations generally take 30 days, with 45 days allowed in some circumstances. Receipt date and report source matter; results may leave an item unchanged.

Ongoing

We review unresolved factual issues and agree on next steps within the written service scope.
